Hi, I'm John, a software engineer with 14 years of experience taking ML ideas from prototype to production, mostly at startups.

Most recently, I was the CTO at TakeOne, an AI SaaS for helping professionals record high-quality profile videos. We wound the company down earlier this year, never quite reaching product-market fit.

My interest in ML stems from my master's thesis on real-time polyphonic guitar transcription, basically getting a computer to listen and name the notes of a chord while it's being played. In 2018, I took a year off to study deep learning in depth, and I've been hooked ever since.

These days I'm focused on real-time audio and music analysis in Rust. I just published my first open-source library, with more to come.
